Why We Exist

ABOUT ALL STAR ABA

Your child can contribute to this world in significant ways. You know it, and at All Star, we know it too. We know the daily struggles—the school meetings where you have to explain your child again, the looks when they have a hard moment in public, the exhaustion of advocating constantly. We exist to stand with you every single day until your child has the tools they need to show the world what they're capable of. That's why All Star ABA exists.

Our Story

Years before All-Star ABA existed, Shawn Tyberg and Aaron Landau were sitting in a classroom, a therapy session, a parent meeting—seeing families struggle, children left waiting, and progress slowed by systems that prioritized speed over care.

They had both worked in ABA for years and knew the difference between therapy that merely checks boxes and therapy that truly changes lives.

They began to dream of a place where every child is seen, every success—big or small—is celebrated, and families feel supported, understood, and empowered.

That dream became All-Star ABA.

From our first office to our Maryland clinic and now our Virginia location, every decision we make is guided by one idea: put the child first.

Every child deserves care that feels personal, compassionate, and unwavering, and that’s exactly what we aim to provide, every single day.

THE PEOPLE WHO GET IT

Our ABA Team Combines Heart with Expertise

Board Certified Behavior Analysts who design therapy around your child's interests and learning patterns, not predetermined programs.

Registered Behavior Technicians who notice progress in small details and maintain consistency through difficult periods.

Family Support Specialists who understand that you know your child best—we're here to support your family's goals, not override your judgment.

Many of our team members are also parents of children with autism. We don't just understand the clinical aspects—we've experienced the late-night concerns, the school meeting preparation, and the satisfaction of unexpected progress.

OUR COMPREHENSIVE AUTISM SERVICES

The Places That Matter, The Skills That Last

At All Star ABA, we know that learning happens in the real moments of your child’s day—where they live, learn, play, and interact with the people who matter most. That’s why we bring therapy to the places that matter, helping your child develop skills that truly last.

In-Home ABA Therapy

Your home is where your child feels safest. We bring therapy to your living room, kitchen, or backyard, turning morning routines, playtime, and daily chores into opportunities for growth—without forcing your family to adapt to a strict schedule.

School‑Based ABA Therapy

School can be overwhelming, but it’s also where key social and academic skills are practiced. Our team works with teachers and staff to support your child in the classroom, cafeteria, and playground—ensuring strategies learned at home transfer to school.

Center‑Based ABA Therapy

For structured, focused sessions, our centers provide a supportive environment for skill-building. We combine evidence-based techniques with engaging activities tailored to your child’s interests and learning style.

Parent Training and Coaching

You are your child’s most important teacher. Our parent training empowers you with the strategies, tools, and confidence to reinforce skills at home, handle challenging behaviors, and make progress stick.

Every place your child goes, every skill they learn, matters.

At All Star ABA, therapy fits your life, not the other way around.

ALL STAR ABA VALUES AND PRINCIPLES

Our Values Drive Every Decision

Your Child's Pace, Not Ours

Some kids need extra time to warm up to new people. Others jump right in but get overwhelmed quickly. We pay attention to how your child actually learns and adjust everything accordingly. Your family's priorities become our priorities.

No Hidden Agendas

When you ask what we're working on this week, you get a real answer. When you want to see the data, we show you. When something confuses you, we explain it until it makes sense.

No therapy-speak, no mysterious methods.

Research Meets Real Life

We use techniques that work in studies, but we know your living room isn't a research lab. If the textbook approach doesn't fit your child or your family situation, we modify it until it does

We Fit Into Your Life

You shouldn't have to rearrange your work schedule, cancel family traditions, or change your parenting style to accommodate therapy. We design our approach around how your family actually lives.

We Tell You the Truth

If progress stalls, we say so. If something isn't working, we change it. If your child needs more time than we initially thought, we discuss it openly. You deserve honest updates, not reassuring platitudes.

Skills That Actually Transfer

If your child can only follow directions with their Tuesday therapist but not with you, grandma, or their teacher, we're not done. We work until skills show up in real life with real people in real situations.

ABA Therapy Tailored to Your Child's World

Comprehensive Assessment

We spend time understanding who your child is beyond their diagnosis. What engages them? What causes stress? What captures their attention? Therapy works better when it builds on existing interests.

Therapy Where Skills Are Needed

Your living room, their school cafeteria, the playground where they need to interact with peers—we provide therapy in the locations where skills actually get used.

Family Partnership

You know your child better than anyone. We combine your observations with our clinical training to create strategies that fit your specific family situation.

Meaningful Progress Tracking

We measure what matters to your family. Not just clinical data, but real-life improvements that make your daily routines more manageable.

Growing With Every Stage

Because every age brings new possibilities. At All Star ABA, we support children and young adults from 1 to 21 years old, tailoring therapy to their unique developmental stage, interests, and strengths.

Early communication and social skills are critical. We help your little one explore the world, understand emotions, and begin connecting with others in playful, engaging ways.

Toddlers (1-3 years):

Building independence and self-regulation is key. We focus on routines, basic daily living skills, and social interactions that make school and playtime more enjoyable.

Preschoolers (3–5 years):

School-Age Children (6–12 years):

ABA therapy supports academic participation, peer relationships, and problem-solving skills. We create strategies for your child to thrive in both classrooms and playgrounds.

This stage is about independence and social confidence. We focus on communication, executive functioning, self-advocacy, and preparing for increased responsibility at home and school.

Teens (13-17 years):

We help teens transition to adulthood with life skills, vocational readiness, and social independence, ensuring therapy prepares them for success beyond the school years.

Young Adults (18–21 years):

Every step of the way, we adjust therapy to fit your child, your family, and your lifestyle. Real progress happens when you have a team that knows your child, understands their needs and shares the single most important value with you - giving them the tools to shine.

Our Approach to ABA Therapy Services in Maryland

The Tuesday Morning Text

"Quick question—Emma had a smooth morning routine today but struggled at pickup. Any thoughts?" These aren't interruptions to us. They're exactly why we give families our direct contact information.

01

The School Meeting Backup

That IEP meeting causing you stress? We'll help you prepare, explain which accommodations make sense, and join the meeting if needed. You shouldn't have to advocate without support.

02

The Sibling Consideration

ABA therapy affects the whole family. We help siblings understand their brother or sister's needs, teach them helpful responses, and ensure they receive attention too.

03

The Weekend Check-In

How was the birthday party? Did the new bedtime routine work? We stay connected because development happens seven days a week, not just during scheduled sessions.

05

The Real-World Practice

Actual skills need to work in actual places. We'll meet you at Target, practice at the playground, or work through restaurant visits. If it affects your family life, it's relevant to us.

No. Effective ABA helps children communicate better, manage overwhelming situations, and build independence. Your child's unique personality, interests, and preferences remain intact.

  • How do you know if ABA therapy is working?
